The Big Suprise
A few months back in July, I discovered Brody was planning a surprise for me. If you didn't know, I am not a big fan of surprises, especially when everyone knows except me. So Brody had to put up with me nagging him about what the surprise was for months.
He started to want to give me clues and hints as to what it was and was expressing his excitement for the surprise, but also told me not to expect anything crazy. So I had my suspicions but he would always say a hard no when I would guess. He finally gave me a rough "surprise day" and it was September 9th. That seemed so far away!
So imagine my surprise when Brody walked through the door with my surprise in hand, 2 weeks earlier than I had thought. Oh, and it was a kitten!
told Brody that since he got me a cat (which I had been begging for for quite awhile) he could name him and he decided on Loki. Loki and I have spent a lot of time together over the last few days and I have learned a lot about him. The good, the bad and the somewhat ugly because how ugly can you really be with that sweet face.
This boy can climb! Neither Brody or I have ever had a kitten before so I'm sure this discovery is very common in baby cats. But Loki climbs everything! From the couch, to the stairs, to our bodies to kitchen cupboards. It has kept us plenty entertained.
He is the sweetest little companion. Brody works so hard on these summer days so I am usually alone until fairly late at night. This week it has been so nice to come home to Loki and for him to be so excited to see me everyday.
When he plays hard he crashes hard! I cannot believe how hyper he can get. I have texted Brody on several occasions saying things like "He is an absolute maniac" and then he'll lay down and be passed out asleep 3 seconds later. As much as I love watching him jump around I can honestly say that when he sleeps with us it is some of my favourite moments. It's nice to get close to him without him chewing on my hand for a second!
He has already brought so much fun to our house and we just love him so much. We're looking forward to another many years with our Loki boy!
